Prof Theo H Veldsman

Theo Veldsman is regarded as one of the thought leaders in South Africa with respect to people management and the psychology of work. Over many years he has demonstrated his ongoing ability to pro-actively identify emerging people and leadership needs and arrive at fit, innovative solutions that are simultaneously theoretically and practically sound. Theo holds a PhD Industrial Psychology. He is a registered Industrial Psychologist and Research Psychologist and accredited HRM Practitioner. Theo has extensive research and development, as well as consulting experience over the past 35 years in the fields of strategy formulation and implementation; strategic organisational change; organisational (re)design; team building; leadership/management and strategic people/ talent management. He has consulted/ consults with many leading South African companies, and organisations overseas, in the above areas in the roles of Advisor, Expert, Coach/ Mentor. He is the author of nearly 200 technical/ consulting reports/articles covering the above mentioned areas. He is the author of two books, and has contributed nine book chapters. At present he is Professor and Head of Department since 2008, of the Department of Industrial Psychology and People Management, Faculty of Management, University of Johannesburg. He has led the profession of Psychology and Industrial Psychology nationally as President on several occasions. He has been awarded Fellowship status by the Society of Industrial and Organisational Psychology of SA (SIOPSA). He also was given an Award for Life Long Achievement by the SA Board for People Practices (SABPP) in 2012.

Dr Andrew J Johnson

Andrew is the General Manager of Eskom's Leadership Institute. He has followed a career with Edcon, MTN, Transnet, Anglovaal Mining and the JSE. Andrew held non-executive directorships in the national Empowerment Fund, the City of Johannesburg's Property Company, Transparency South Africa, the National Student Financial Aid Scheme and the Department of Industrial Psychology & People Management of UJ. Professional associations include the Society for Industrial & Organisational Psychology of South Africa (past president) and the Global Forum on Executive Development & Business Driven Action Learning. He also served on a review committee of the King II Report. Andrew was awarded the HR Director of the Year Award by IPM, and a Lifetime Achievement Award by the SABPP. He holds a PhD in Industrial Psychology from the University of Johannesburg. (He is a speaker at many professional conferences, and coach/mentor to many young professionals).
