Marketing Legislation
Interactive Seminar
29 July 2009 | Crowne Plaza Johannesburg | The Rosebank

As a marketer, brand manager or advertising agency you need to be aware of and understand all the legal requirements and best practices affecting the environment in which you operate. If you do not comply with these legal and ethical requirements, it is inevitable that you will not only damage your brand and company reputation, but will also harm the relationship with your customers.

There are various legal requirements to take into account: the new Consumer Protection Act was signed into law earlier this year; last year new amendments to the Competition Act were approved; and not to forget the inevitable use of intellectual property in marketing and advertising campaigns. These are just a few to keep in mind!

Knowledge Resources is proud to present an interactive seminar around marketing and advertising legislation. We have carefully selected and invited top legal experts to discuss the latest legal and regulatory developments affecting marketing. This seminar will be highly interactive with in-depth discussions around each session, which will give you the opportunity to ask your burning questions and make sense of how these regulations affect your specific industry and marketing strategy.

Destination Marketing
One - Day Seminar
16 September 2009 | Venue: Maropeng  Gauteng

There is no one size fits all approach to destination marketing as needs, expectations, and anticipated benefits vary from one destination to another” – UNWTO (United Nations World Tourism Organisation)

A Destination can be anything from a nation to a region, a resort to a city, an attraction to an event . One thing is for sure,  Destinations are increasingly at risk to the challenges posed by the global, technological and political changes and all too often find themselves competing against a surplus of choices.    Marketing of destinations requires a clear understanding of how “place buyers” make their location decisions.  Once you have this understanding, the “place sellers” can compete aggressively to attract the buyers.

The tourism market is extremely competitive and the tourist or visitor of today is definitely more selective when choosing their destinations.  Today’s traveler is far better educated and has greater access to information and variety of destination options.  Thus destination branding and marketing are critical and proactively managing a brand of a country, region, city or place is becoming a priority around the world.  For developing countries specifically, destination marketing is however not just an exercise in luring tourists, but rather a strategic and calculated means to boost trade and investment too.

Knowledge Resources is putting together a one-day seminar focused on Destination Marketing.  We are inviting key people within the industry to share their expertise and experiences with us.   We are still developing this program, but will keep you updated as it develops.

Developing and Managing High Performance Teams One - Day Seminar
14 October 2009 | The Forum l The Campus| Bryanston

High Performing Teams! As organisation’s struggle to cope with the speed of change, the ever increasing demands from customers, increased technology, the challenges that come with globalisation, and now the added pressures of the economic down turn - there is no doubt that effective teamwork can add significant value and bottom-line returns.

Teams who pull together cope with these demands far more effectively than groups of individuals. Ken Blanchard is quoted saying ‘None of us is as smart as all of us…’ High performing teams provide the foundation for organisational effectiveness, but they won't work without mutual trust and a commitment to common goals.

Trust among members, a sense of group identity, and a sense of group efficacy are the three conditions essential to a group's effectiveness…as identified by Vanessa Urch Druskat and Steven B. Wolff (Harvard Business Review).

Why is Building High Performance Teams so important? Find out more…..
