Selo Govender, People Executive: Group Head of Talent and Performance, Discovery Limited
A global Human Capital Leader with more than 20 years of experience and expertise in both the Corporate Human Resources and Business Unit Human Resources Operations environments. Selo has global experience in: Leading, Managing and Coaching high performance HR teams globally, experience in the total value chain of Human Resources, Business and HR Strategy development and implementation, project management, as well as Mentoring and coaching. Selo joined Discovery after having spent 16 years at Sasol as the Group Head of Talent, Leadership and Learning. Selo has a MBA from the University of the North West.
Martin Sutherland, Co-founder and Global Director, PeopleTree Group
Martin is the Global Director of PeopleTree Group, a software and consulting firm focused on talent analytics. He is a founder member of the company, launched in 1998, and has been responsible for its global expansion. Clients are spread across 47 countries in Africa, Europe, the Middle East, the US, Central and South America and India.
Martin works with key clients globally in the area of executive succession management and talent management. He has 28 years of consulting experience in the IT, Telecoms, Energy and Power, Financial Services, Banking and Transport industries. Martin is the co-author of Talent Talker: 60 conversations to unlock talent and potential and regularly speaks at international conferences and publishes articles on the topic of talent management.
Martin holds a BA in Psychology and Philosophy and a post-graduate degree in Training Management. He was a lecturer at the Standard Bank Management college before he started his first business in 1992 focusing on using technology to better manage careers and performance. That business was incorporated into another start-up (Simeka) that went on to become the largest Public Relations and Communications company in Southern Africa, where he developed a practice around “Perception Management”.
Lisa Andrews Head of Talent Management, Africa, Old Mutual Limited
As an experienced Human Capital professional, Lisa currently leads talent management across 14 markets for Old Mutual Limited. Prior to this role, Lisa has held numerous roles with the BAT group, including an international assignment in the UK, leading in the Talent Centre of expertise across 200 Markets. She has a wealth of experience in Talent Management and Organizational Design driving robust leadership pipelining on a local and global level. Lisa holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree in Industrial Psychology from UCT and completed Leadership Development Programme.
