ONLINE SEMINAR

Continuing with school during COVID-19 has probably been the most daunting for many educators. Navigating the virus on a daily basis is one of the biggest issues for teachers and learners.

With all this uncertainty, there’s a ticking time bomb of an epidemic of anxiety, derailment, burnout and stress. But life must go on – which presents school management with a new challenge to quell the anxiety of educators, parents and learners. Given this context, the role of the HR professional within a school has never been more critical – The HR function is now in the spotlight!

HR needs to ensure employees keep physically and mentally fit, they need to maintain morale, oversee a blended/hybrid learning environment (conducting physical lessons, while running online lessons concurrently for those pupils that have opted for remote learning), accommodate educators with comorbidities, re-organise school facilities to ensure COVID-19 compliance, and as some schools lose students with parents who have lost income, consider restructuring salaries and benefits, and in the worst case scenario, consider when and how to lay off staff.

It is for this purpose that KR has put together a HR in Schools webinar to address some of the challenges HR professionals in schools are facing during the coronavirus vortex.

Join thought leaders and unpack strategies to remain resilient and thrive during these unprecedented times.

Who should attend?

  • Heads of HR
  • Senior HR Managers
  • Principals
  • All school Administrators involved in human resources management/people development

SETA grants and accreditation requirements

Many of our delegates enquire about the accreditation of our events. There is a misconception that organisations qualify for SETA grants only for accredited programmes. This is not correct. The payment of SETA grants is regulated by the Government Gazette, no. 9867, Vol. 570, 3 December 2012, no. 35940. These Regulations clearly state that the SETAs “must allocate a mandatory grant to a levy paying employer” that has submitted a WSP and ATR by the regulated date, has provided all the information required in the regulated template, and is up to date with skills levy payments. Furthermore, the template in the Regulations (Section C: Skills Development) allows employers to include ALL planned training in the report; not only accredited programmes.
