Speakers

Craig Raath, Executive Director, 21st Century
Craig is an Executive Director at 21st Century. In this capacity he has overall accountability for consulting division and operations. His primary role is business development and sales for 21st Century. Craig has consulted to over 500 organisations both nationally and internationally. Craig holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree, Majoring in Business Economics and Industrial Psychology. Areas of work include incentive scheme design, employee value proposition, financial modelling, performance management systems, salary structuring, strategy and policy development and general Executive remuneration consulting. He also sits on and advises a number of Board Committees.
Zandile Njilo, Partner, PDD Innovation
Zandile is an Occupationally Directed Education Training Development Practitioner (OD-ETDP) offering versatile skills across L&D, Organisational Development and Human Resources (HR) practices. She has over 12-years expertise in Human Capital Consulting and facilitation. She provides training services in strategic planning, process improvement and workforce development. She is a seasoned practitioner with high level corporate experience which spans over various industries namely; financial services, advertising and marketing, mining and construction and education. She is registered with Bank and ETDP SETAs as a facilitator, designer, developer, assessor and moderator. Zandile coaches individuals, businesses, teams, executives and helps them reach their next level of goals and performance.
Cathy Albertyn, Executive Director, HR, Coca-Cola Beverages Africa Group
Cathy joined the group in 1992 as Personnel Manager: Head Office for the SA Bottling Company as it was then known. Cathy has since held various HR roles including Group HR Director, Regional Human Resources Manager in South Africa and Group HR Services Manager for Coca-Cola Sabco where she led internal recruiting initiatives. Cathy has extensive multicultural experience across the company’s Africa and Asia footprints having played a key role in driving the integration of the Asian territories into Coca-Cola Sabco. She is a member of the TCCC Global HR Council and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Port Elizabeth (now Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University) as well as a Bachelor of Arts Honours (Industrial Sociology) from the University of South Africa.
Tswelo Kodisang, Chief HR Officer, Discovery SA
Tswelo Kodisang joined Discovery as Chief People Officer in 2018. Prior to Discovery, Tswelo was the CHRO at Tiger Brands. A seasoned HR leader, Tswelo has worked across Africa, the Middle East, Turkey, Israel, and England. Tswelo also spent a lot of his career working at Unilever. Tswelo has a degree from the University of the Witwatersrand.
Tania Naude, Group Head: Organisational Design, Development and Human Capital Services
Tania has over 25 years’ experience in Human Capital and Information Systems environments, with 18 years’ at an executive level. Her experience ranges across industries, i.e. Information Technology, Consulting Services, FMCG, Mining and Chemicals with international exposure across many countries and continents. She has designed and implemented various Organisational Effectiveness initiatives as well as operating models and has recently established one of the first Human Capital Shared Service Centres that is run locally from South Africa, providing service across six continents (Africa, Europe, Asia’s South Eastern region, North America, South America and Australia), supported by an integrated Human Capital Systems Platform as part of continually driving the digitisation of Human Capital. Prior to AECI, Tania worked as an Executive at AVI Limited, HR Executive at National Brands and HR Consultant at LRMG. She has a degree from UNISA.
Kirsten Eiser, Partner, Webber Wentzel
Kirsten specialises in employment law. Her experience includes drafting of and advising on employment contracts and employment related commercial agreements, developing employment policies and procedures and conducting the employment related aspects of due diligence investigations. Her expertise extends to advising on restraints of trade agreements and labour law related litigation, arbitrations and alternative dispute resolution. She also has experience in matters related to data protection law.
Joani van Vuuren, Senior Associate, Webber Wentzel
Joani is a specialist in general employment and labour law. Her experience includes restraint of trade advice and negotiations, disciplinary proceedings at various levels, unlawful competition, and labour related litigation. She is an Admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa
James Hebbard, Founder, Performance EQ (immediate past Chief People Officer, Tencent)
James recently left his corporate role as the Chief People Officer at Tencent. He has many years of Executive experience. He has trained with International specialists like Tony Robbins, Clem Sunter, Bon Proctor, Blair Singer, T Harv Ecker to name a few. I am a NLP Master Practitioner and I have been accredited to train and consult using various recognized Leadership, Management and Psychological models and tools. He has also been training and consulting in the Change Management sector for the 15 years, facilitated and trained various leadership and change interventions for large International Organisations (Vodacom, Sasol, Standard Bank, PPC, Ernst & Young, Tencent, etc) with specific focus on Change Management, specifically on how to assist organisations, leaders, teams and individuals not only to accept change but also use change initiatives as opportunities for innovative ideas to improve performance as well as profitability.
Selo Govender, Group Head of Talent and Performance, Discovery
A global Human Capital Leader with more than 20 years of experience and expertise in both Corporate HR and Business Unit HR environments. Selo is the Group Talent and Performance Centre of Expertise director accountable for strategy, thought leadership, standards, policy and projects. She has been with Discovery for just over two years. Prior to Discovery she was Group Head of Talent, Leadership and Learning for Sasol. Selo has an MBA from Northwest University.
Abena Amankwah, HR Director, Ipsos
Abena is the HR Director at Ipsos. She is also the founder of Asabea Consultancy, a 100% black female owned HR coaching services company supporting business through Human Capital development. She was also the Human Resource Director for TNS South Africa. She was part of the statutory board in SA. Other senior level positions include working at Genpact Africa, Faritec and Netcare. She has a BCom Degree through Rhodes University. She has an Advanced Labour Law Certificate from the University of Pretoria. Abena is Lean and Six Sigma trained and tested. She has completed her global Leadership Development Program through Harvard Business School where she was awarded Best Project Award and Best Student Award. She owns a Fashion company called FhoG Designs. FhoG Designs, is a fashions house specialising in formal, casual and corporate clothing, shoes, bags, accessories and home decor.
Penny Milner-Smyth, Director, Ethicalways
Penny is Director at Ethicalways, providing advisory and training services to organisations seeking to promote a culture of workplace integrity and achieve ethics-related legal compliance, specialising in Southern Africa region. She has a Masters in Research Psychology and is also a Master HR Practitioner (SABPP). Penny is the Principal author of the Specialist Certificate in Anti-Corruption offered by the International Compliance Association. She is an Independent non-executive member of Board Ethics Committees and a Certified Ethics Trainer for the SABPP.
David Conradie, Partner, Human Capital Advisory, Deloitte Consulting (Italy)
David Conradie is currently based in Italy. He is Partner in Human Capital Advisory at Deloitte Consulting. He has more than 20 years extensive expertise within HR having worked for companies like Mindcor, TTS - Top Talent as well as with Nedbank and First Rand Group. He has a master’s degree in Industrial Psychology from the University of the Witwatersrand.

SETA grants and accreditation requirements

Many of our delegates enquire about the accreditation of our events. There is a misconception that organisations qualify for SETA grants only for accredited programmes. This is not correct. The payment of SETA grants is regulated by the Government Gazette, no. 9867, Vol. 570, 3 December 2012, no. 35940. These Regulations clearly state that the SETAs “must allocate a mandatory grant to a levy paying employer” that has submitted a WSP and ATR by the regulated date, has provided all the information required in the regulated template, and is up to date with skills levy payments. Furthermore, the template in the Regulations (Section C: Skills Development) allows employers to include ALL planned training in the report; not only accredited programmes.
