About:

Learning is critically important to people and to the organisations they work in. As learning professionals, we have a responsibility to spend the organisation’s money wisely and to support people in doing their jobs better today and enabling them to have a job tomorrow.

As learning professionals, we still make too many decisions based on intuition, feelings, beliefs, trends, and gadgets. If we continue to work this way, we’re at risk leaving behind a legacy of wasted time, money, and effort, and many people who didn’t learn what they needed to do to do their jobs better and stay relevant.

Especially given the current situation, we need to prove our value and make sure that we have a real impact on people and organisations. One way of achieving this, is to use the scientific evidence from the learning sciences available to us. It’s time for an evidence-informed approach to learning design so that organisations can stay afloat, learners can keep their jobs, and we can keep ours.

You might be surprised to learn what we actually know from the learning sciences! In this highly interactive morning seminar, we’ll discuss some of the strong evidence we have. Together, we determine how you can apply the evidence to support effective, efficient, and enjoyable virtual learning experiences.

The seminar includes the following:

  • What is evidence-informed learning design?
  • Why would we bother?
  • What evidence do we actually have?
  • How can we use what we have in practice to support virtual learning experiences?

5 reasons to attend:

  • Increase the value of your work through taking an evidence-informed approach when designing virtual learning experiences
  • Recognise the evidence we have to inform your practice
  • Start to make decisions based on evidence, instead of intuition, beliefs, and trends to increase the impact of your work.
  • Practice how to improve the design of virtual learning interventions, applying evidence from the learning sciences.
  • Connect with fellow learning professionals and start driving change together.

Who should attend:

Any learning professional who is involved in designing training, learning programmes, learning solutions, learning experiences, and so forth, including:
  • learning experience designers
