The #ChooseFlourish Series

ONLINE WORKSHOP

Information

75-minute live-zoom sessions over 5 days
Start date: 3 August 2020
End date: 7 August 2020

FLOURISH is a series of five live masterclass learning modules to help you deal with the uncertainty of COVID-19 and just too much going on (remote working, home schooling, etc.).

When we’re under chronic, elevated and unpredictable stress, we experience a ‘threat state’ where our attention narrows. Narrowed focus is a reflexive response to perceived fearful situations. Flourishing is when we choose to transform perceived stress to a new baseline of meaning, purpose and social cohesion.

This series will show you how to free yourself from anxiety and FLOURISH in the midst of adversity.

ADDED VALUE!

This 5-day workshop also includes:

  • A free copy of the book: Fight, Flight or Flourish
  • A free e-book with copies of the presentations and journal articles, video clips
  • Access to the #Choose Flourish community of practice

COURSE DETAILS:

Format: FLOURISH is a series of five, 75-minute live-zoom sessions over 5 days.

This 5-part zoom workshop will cover:

The inner workings of the human brain: Discover the electro-chemistry of how the brain processes information, how networks talk to each other to let us be our best or worst selves every day.

The importance of safety: Safety happens when we feel secure and trusted in our environment. The brain scans and distinguishes the “safety” of every single experience we encounter, mostly subconsciously, and we behave in accordance with the brain’s assessment.

Mastering your consciousness: The brain uses two modes of processing the subconscious and the conscious. Learn how to handle the ways of being aware of your thoughts, how to spot default patterns and to maximise the neural axis of creativity.

Focusing your attention: Attention happens when certain information is selected for further processing and other information is not. Learn how to cultivate types and levels of attention for the task at hand.

Neuroplasticity: The brain has the ability to rewire itself based on where we focus attention. Learn how experiences build and destroy neural pathways.

Social first: We are wired to bond and belong; we have a social filter that enables us to be our best self in the presence of others.

The importance of social interaction: We are wired to bond and belong. The brain uses a social filter to determine what we remember, who matters, the magnitude of our goal-pursuit.

Nudges to change: Being fearful is a survival mechanism so we all have it; learn to be unafraid even when facing the most scary situations.
This isn’t a “paint by numbers” exercise. It is an interactive approach that can be achieved with dedicated application.
