SPEAKERS

Charlotte Mokoena, Executive Vice President for Human Resources and Corporate Affairs, Sasol
As Executive Vice President for Human Resources and Corporate Affairs, Charlotte Mokoena has global responsibility for Sasol’s Human Resources and Corporate Affairs functions. She was appointed to Sasol’s Group Executive Committee on 1 February 2017. Charlotte’s career spans various industries, including the global beverages business, information and communication technology, health, management consulting, education and agro-processing – as well as the not-for-profit sector. Charlotte holds a BA degree in Social Sciences, an Honours degree in Human Resources Development and a postgraduate diploma from Leicester University, United Kingdom. In addition, she has attended numerous executive development programmes at prestigious business schools including the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, Switzerland and the United States-based University of Michigan Business School. She is also a qualified nurse. She has been involved in youth development, community development and teacher training. Charlotte is former Non-Executive Chairman of Sasol Inzalo Public (Pty) Limited and Sasol Inzalo Public Funding (Pty) Limited.
Masenyane Molefe, Group Executive: Human Resources, PPS
Masenyane Molefe has recently been appointed as the Group Executive: HR at PPS Financial Services. Prior to this, she spent five years with the Imperial/Motus Group as Human Resources Director for Hyundai Automotive South Africa as well as Head of HR at Regent Insurance. She comes with vast experience having spent 6 years at Nedbank as Head of HR in various Retail divisions. She spent many years as a public servant at SARS in various roles with her last role being that of Head: Small Business. While at SARS, Masenyane had an opportunity to spend three years in the UK as a Tax attaché where building alliances with UK and European tax and customs authorities were among her mandate. In her early career, she was a market researcher. In terms of qualifications, Masenyane holds an Masters in Business Administration from GIBS (University of Pretoria, 2013), an Executive Development Programme certificate from UCT (2016), a Senior Management Programme certificate from GIBS (2009) as well as a Bachelor of Commerce degree (1993) from what was previously known as the University of Bophuthatswana (now called University of North West). She majored in Operations Research, Economics and Management for her junior degree. She is currently busy with her Master in Science in Human Resource Management and Development with the University of Salford (UK). Masenyane is single and lives with her two boys. She is an avid networker and a keen social media commentator. She loves to travel and wants to change the world. She believes she is a millennial trapped in Gen X body, she is a serial student and also an aspiring academic.
Cebile Xulu, HR Director Business Lead, Southern, Central & Eastern Africa, Mondelēz International
Cebile Xulu is the Human Resource Business Lead, Southern, Central and Eastern Africa, at Mondelēz International based in Johannesburg. She is a seasoned HR professional, strategist and leader with extensive human capital and general management experience. She has over 14 years of experience in the HR industry, which she acquired from working for multinational and local private entities, as well as parastatal and government institutions in South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa. Ms. Xulu’s experience spans across various areas of human resources management, specifically in the areas of Talent Management and Development, Employee Relations, Organisational Development, Leadership Development, as well as the areas of Employer Branding, Employee Engagement, Employee Wellbeing, Health and Safety Management and Internal Communications. She has also gained experience in Transformation (BBBEE) and Corporate Social Responsibility and Investment as well as Corporate Governance and Ethics. Prior to joining Mondelēz International, Ms. Xulu worked across different industries and companies including Heineken, Tongaat Hulett Sugar, A-Cubed Institute and Sara Lee Co.
Yashwin Bhoola, Strategy and Consulting Lead, Accenture
Yashwin is responsible for driving part of Accenture's Resources Strategy and Management Consulting practice. He works across industries serving a range of organisations on strategic business imperatives. To-date, he has served more than 40 clients both locally and globally and supported / led + 80 projects. Before joining Accenture Yashwin was Associate Partner at Letsema Consulting and Advisory. He started his career as a Project Engineer for Sasol. Yashwin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering as well as a Master of Science degree in Engineering, both from Witwatersrand University.
Vinolia Singh, Chief People Officer, Adcorp
Vinolia is a Chief People Officer at Adcorp, responsible for developing and executing human capital strategies across South Africa and Australia in support of the overall business transformation, the strategic direction of the organisation and preparation of our workplace for the future world of work. Her core competencies are to provide strategic leadership and insights by articulating human capital needs to the executive management team, shareholders and the board of directors and generating socioeconomic solutions by creating job opportunities and managing talent across a vast spectrum of industry sectors, job types and geographic regions.
Professor Theo Veldsman, Work Psychologist, Strategic People Effectiveness Advisor Former Professor and HOD, Department of Industrial Psychology and People Management, College of Economics and Business, University of Johannesburg. Currently Visiting Professor at same department, Extra-ordinary Professor, University of Stellenbosch Business School
Theo is regarded as one of the thought leaders in South Africa with respect to people management and the psychology of work. He has demonstrated his ongoing ability to pro-actively identify emerging people and leadership needs and arrive at fit-for-purpose, innovative solutions that are simultaneously theoretically and practically sound. He has a proven ability to move seamlessly between theory and practice, and vice versa. He has led the profession of Psychology and Industrial Psychology nationally as President on several occasions. He has been awarded Fellowship status by the Society of Industrial and Organisational Psychology of SA (SIOPSA). He was given an Award for Life Long Achievement by the SA Board for People Practices (SABPP) in 2012.

SETA grants and accreditation requirements
Many of our delegates enquire about the accreditation of our events. There is a misconception that organisations qualify for SETA grants only for accredited programmes. This is not correct. The payment of SETA grants is regulated by the Government Gazette, no. 9867, Vol. 570, 3 December 2012, no. 35940. These Regulations clearly state that the SETAs “must allocate a mandatory grant to a levy paying employer” that has submitted a WSP and ATR by the regulated date, has provided all the information required in the regulated template, and is up to date with skills levy payments. Furthermore, the template in the Regulations (Section C: Skills Development) allows employers to include ALL planned training in the report; not only accredited programmes.
