HR Goes Agile Conference 2019

Improving Business Performance with Agile

INFORMATION

Pre-conference workshops - 19 and 20 August 2019
Two-day Conference - 21 and 22 August 2019
Radisson Blu Gautrain Hotel, Sandton | Johannesburg

Organisations that embrace Agile practices and values, from its people and culture, to its structure and technology, are able to respond quickly to changes in the marketplace or environment and. They can react successfully to the emergence of new competitors, rapid advancements in technology and sudden shifts in overall market conditions.

In essence, Agile organisations are able to adapt quicker, deliver faster, test the environment more frequently and consistently stay focused on the customer.

The 12th State of Agile survey (COLLAB.NET VERSIONONE.COM 2018) found that organisations are realising the benefits they set out to achieve, by adopting Agile. Four of the top five reasons for adopting agile are also the five areas most-impacted as a result of adopting Agile.

Survey respondents also report that their organisations are recognising agile success at the project level. Of those with knowledge of success at that level, 61% reported that “most” or “all” of their Agile projects have been successful.

However, in terms of organisational agile maturity, there continues to be ample room for improvement. Only 12% responded that their organisations have a high-level of competency with Agile practices across the organisation, and only 4% report that Agile practices are enabling greater adaptability to market conditions. The encouraging news is that 59% recognise that they’re still maturing, and do not intend to plateau where they are.

The survey results highlighted three themes:

  • Organisational culture matters,
  • Agile is expanding within the enterprise, and
  • Customer satisfaction is of utmost importance.

The two-day HR Goes Agile Conference and workshops will unpack the theories and practical applications behind the agile movement and show HR professionals and managers:

  • How the Dutch bank ING successfully implemented the Agile way – INTERNATIONAL SPEAKER.
  • How to apply core business agility practices.
  • What the new role of leadership is in Agile learning.
  • How to scale Agile beyond the team to a larger organisation.
  • he critical role of talent management in an Agile organisation.
  • The importance of psychological safety and the Agile leader.

  • The challenges implementing Agile in an organisation – ABSA CASE STUDY

Stephen is a coach and trainer. He is passionate about helping to create environments where people can excel. Over the last 20+ years he has worked in many different industries from the collar and tie of large corporates to the hard-hats and steel-caps of manufacturing. In these industries, he has been responsible for building and leading teams in the delivery and support of customer value. He has discovered through this journey that true organisational agility has very little to do with frameworks and processes. True agility is about people how they interact with other people. We need to focus on creating cultures that self-assess and adjust over time. This is the only way we can ensure that the accumulated learning and behaviours we pass on are those that we truly value.

SETA grants and accreditation requirements
Many of our delegates enquire about the accreditation of our events. There is a misconception that organisations qualify for SETA grants only for accredited programmes. This is not correct. The payment of SETA grants is regulated by the Government Gazette, no. 9867, Vol. 570, 3 December 2012, no. 35940. These Regulations clearly state that the SETAs “must allocate a mandatory grant to a levy paying employer” that has submitted a WSP and ATR by the regulated date, has provided all the information required in the regulated template, and is up to date with skills levy payments. Furthermore, the template in the Regulations (Section C: Skills Development) allows employers to include ALL planned training in the report; not only accredited programmes.
